Old Demolition Area, Lone Star, TX: Demolition site requiring a risk assessment work plan for the human health and ecological risk assessment. Compounds of concern were metals and explosives (HMX, RDX, TNT, and associated degradation products).
- Represented the plan to the Texas DNR, evaluated and reduced the data for the site and prepared the human health and ecological risk assessment
- Assisted sampling team with selection of sampling locations, methods, and data quality objectives
The Ensign-Bickford Company, Louviers, CO: Explosives manufacturing facility in Colorado. Explosives include RDX, HMX, TNT, and associated degradation products.
- Work plans submitted to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
U.S. EPA Region VIII, Spanish Fork Site, UT: Project was part of an ongoing site remediation at a former weapons manufacturing facility. Potential exposure to elevated concentration of RDX, HMX and TNT in fruits and vegetable grown in soil and groundwater containing these constituents.
- Risk assessment modeling included root uptake, deposition, and ingestion modeling for adults and children
- Integrated field sampling location results with risk assessment of all contamination concern
Dugway Proving Ground, UT: Prepared risk assessments for burn boxes on the former weapons testing and gunnery range. Explosives included RDX, HMX, TNT, and associated degradation products.
